If you're like me, you love a road trip. Sure, I can fly places much faster, but the old saying is true - it's the journey, not (just) the destination.
This summer, we took a 3700km road trip through Quebec, New Brunswick, Maine, and New Hampshire before heading back through Massachusetts and New York to return to Ontario.
Here are 10 things I learned during our summer road trip. Enjoy!
1. Saint John, New Brunswick, is probably nice…but it’s foggy. All the time.
2. Your car has more gas than expected, which is especially important on unserviced forest roads.
3. Hallmark movie towns actually exist.
4. New Hampshire residents are incredibly polite.
5. Glass welding is an art form I wasn’t aware of…but I want to try my hand at it.
6. Falling asleep to the sounds of ocean waves is the most soothing nighttime routine.
7. Coffee from handcrafted pottery mugs tastes better.
8. Skip the toll roads. There’s so much to see.
9. The jellyfish sting isn’t as bad as I expected.
10. Peeing on your wife’s jellyfish sting only makes your wife angry.*
*This didn’t actually happen, but I was advised that she would be angry!
